Some of the MIWC players will touch down in Düsseldorf International Airport (DUS). The airport is located 10km/6 miles north of the city of Düsseldorf. The airport is divided into 3 piers, A, B and C. Buses and Taxis depart from the ground level, and local trains from the basement level.

The distance between DUS und Krefeld Central Station is approx 20 km. You have extraordinary good transport connections but bear in mind that travel time varies in part dramatically depending on the vehicle you use.

If there is plenty of time and you are in a touristic mood take the train. You can configure your own journey, gain a lot of rural and urban impressions but time requirement is between 40 to 60 min..

The fastet way by far is by car. Usually it takes a 20 to 30 minutes drive to the center of Krefeld. Best is to take a taxi which will bring you directly to your hotel.

Some of the MIWC teams will take the train. ICE (Intercity Express) will stop in Düsseldorf or Duisburg Central Station and a Regional Express will bring you to Krefeld Central Station.

Once arrived at Krefeld and looking for local connections it is advisable to have a look at the itinaray planner of Stadtwerke Krefeld.

Team Hotels are not just round the corner and from our point of view it is not recommendable to take local public transport loaded with all the luggage.

Today, every car has a navigation system (GPS) available and we assume that nobody will get lost because of missing the right direction. Therefore I only will outline the addresses of the most important places where MIWC activities will happen:

They also have mini vans available for 6 to 7 persons. The cost per ride between hotel and sports halls will be 12.00 - 15.00 Euro. This price/person will not be beatable.
